Homecoming Scotland 2009

First time seeing so many people in Dumfries.
It was Homecoming Scotland 2009, a program with many events to celebrate Scottish contribution to the world.

Part of the program was the Burns Night. It was to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Robert Burns' birth. Robert Burns is a famous poet who once lived in Dumfries. He is like the Scottish Shakespeare. He wrote the Auld Lang Syne.

All sweet stuff.

They have something like a mini funfare there.

Something exciting? I didn't wait for it to start. But I guess I heard people screaming after that.
A big screen projecting live performances and recordings of children from local school.

hahahaha this was funny. This man was selling wigglees and he went around shouting "wigleeeeee" in a funny way.

Was looking at something at the opposite.

It was this. Bagpipe marching band. Many people said that this whole event was so not organised. On the left side of the river was a live band playing, and on the right side was this bagpipe band.

There was a bridge on my right. The bagpipe band marched across the bridge and came over to where I was.

This was the bridge. The people were building something (to be burnt later)...I can't remember what was that.

Birds flying on a straight line! well, almost straight.
I always get to see this here and I'm always amazed by it.

They burnt it.

I was at the other side of the river by this time coz there were lesser people here.

Frozen. That's the maximum I could open. First time of such experience haha.
I was in the cold for about 4 hours. And I didn't bring my gloves coz I wanted to act strong hehe.
See the lime green light and the white light. The colours were constantly changing; there were also red, blue, and purple.

There you go! Burns Night for Homecoming Scotland 2009.
