I love hawker food. They are wonderful and cheap... although now it can be quite expensive for some.
Anyway, I was at USJ 1 this evening (next to the petrol stations) and found that there were many mobile hawker stalls. I was puzzled by the amount of it because usually it's not like this at this time. Then a Yao Char Kwai seller told me that they will open on those days when the results for lottery are announced, i.e. Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Nevermind about that. Happy with this new discovery of extra food stalls, I went on to get myself some Chee Cheong Fun.. it was RM0.70/pc, so it's quite cheap. Everything looks good. Already planning my second coming.
Moved on to Kuih stall, bought the green+white kuih... kuih talam i think. then the layered-with-diff-colour kuih, and the green kuih with rice. The colours don't look very good but nevermind, maybe homemade and could taste better.
Then went on to the Yao Char Kwai stall... the one with the rice in the middle doesn't look very nice... normal 2-sticks YCK looks ok.... bought one rice and 2 sets of 2-sticks.
Ok, straight to the point, I'm totally disappointed with the taste for Chee Cheong Fun and Kuih.
CCF sauce was too salty. Kuih was too fake... too much of gelatin? taste not strong enough? a bit tasteless... as for the YCK.. I took a bite.. it was ok but I didn't want to eat more already.
It's been some time since I tasted food this bad.
What a waste of calories.
